A good way to save on interest is to switch to a fixed-rate mortgage when market rates are low. This way, you will have predictable monthly payments that won’t rise and fall with the market.

Another way to save is by working with the same title insurance company that you used for your initial purchase. This can significantly reduce your title fees. If you want to reduce or eliminate other fees you could ask for an appraisal waiver or negotiate an origination fee waiver. Though it’s not guaranteed, you could save hundreds by waiving these fees.
